What face blur can and cannot protect in video chat

Face blur gives you time to decide how much of yourself to reveal in a live call. It changes what is visible in the video; it does not make the whole conversation anonymous. Knowing that difference helps you make better choices.

What blur changes

A blur effect reduces the detail of your face seen by the other person. bluured describes its video chat as blur-first by default. Before you join, inspect the current controls in the app and check what the camera actually shows. Do not assume a control works the same way on every device or connection.

What blur does not hide

Your voice, accent, clothing, room, screen reflections and anything you say may identify you. A video call may also be captured by the other participant. Move away from mail, photos, street views and other clues before starting. Share only what you are willing for another person to know.

Keep control throughout

Decide your boundaries before you connect. Leave if someone pressures you to reveal your face or personal details. Use the app's current safety controls where available. No visual filter can guarantee privacy, so treat blur as one useful layer rather than a complete shield.

Does blurred video mean I am anonymous?

No. It can reduce facial detail, but your voice, background and words can still make you identifiable.
